Located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Abbott Claim is perched atop the Savannah Ridge, a 170-acre boundary that hosts some of the oldest soils in the Willamette Valley. Starting in 2006, Beck Family Estate proprietor, Antony Beck, began purchasing the vineyards that make up the full estate – functionally reassembling an historic land claim by John Abbott. As the next generation of stewards of this land, the team has implemented organic and regenerative farming practices in the vineyard and its surroundings since 2018, crafting examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that truly speak to place.
Why We Love Abbott Claim: The state-of-the-art winery has a living roof, curving barrel cellars and an underground wine library. The wine tasting often includes a caviar pairing and is second to none.

Situated in the heart of the Yamhill-Carlton American Viticulture Area, the 11-acre Carlton Hill Vineyard is the exclusive source of fruit for Carlton Hill Estate and Estate Reserve Pinot Noir—and this vineyard is something special. Winemaker and owner, David Polite has three principal hallmarks that guide his winemaking: growing great fruit, avoiding unnecessary manipulation of the wines, and bottling at a bright, high pH that gives their Pinot Noirs the capacity to age.
Why We Love Carlton Hill: Tastings are held in the beautiful historic barn at the top of Carlton Hill, and owner David Polite is a fantastic host and storyteller.

Wines: Viognier, Riesling, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo
Founded in 2002, the creativity of winemaker/co-owner Patrick Reuter is the heart of Dominio IV. In addition to creating many different varietals of wine, Patrick does “shape tastings”, visual artistic depictions of his own tasting experience with a varietal. These visual expressions of the wine make their way into the art of each label. The wines are sourced from the family’s biodynamic Three Sleeps Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge, from various vineyards in the Willamette Valley and from sustainably farmed Southern Oregon fruit. Tastings are held in the 1916 farmhouse, with an iconic red barn that has been converted into an event space.
Why We Love Dominio IV: You will be hard-pressed to find anywhere that is cooler to hang out than their converted old barn, plus their Tempranillos have a cult following.

The Moore Family are some of the nicest in the wine industry and always welcome guests like family to their small vineyard outside Carlton. Ron and Linda Moore started MonksGate in the early 2000s, clearing the land themselves for the 20-acre vineyard. This isn’t your grandiose million dollar tasting room— rather, a casual family operation that speaks to the heart and soul of the Oregon wine experience. With tastings set in a renovated garage and outside around the historic barn, you’ll work your way through Yamhill-Carlton AVA Riesling, Rosé and Pinot Noir. The Moore family conducts all of the tastings, so you can really dive deep into how the wines were made and the blending decisions for each vintage.
Why We Love MonksGate: There are multiple patios and tasting areas throughout the property to spread out and enjoy the views and wine.

The story of Résonance starts with Maison Louis Jadot, the famous Burgundian winery started in 1859. After enjoying years of success, Maison Louis Jadot expanded to the New World in 2013 with the purchase of Resonance Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. A winery and tasting room were built soon after, and all-star Burgundian winemakers Jacques Lardiere and Thibault Gagey took the help of the winemaking team at Résonance. For wine lovers looking for old-world style wines crafted in Oregon, look no further than Resonance.
Why We Love Resonance: Enjoy Burgundian-style wines in the gorgeous tasting room, and step outside for epic views of the vineyards and Oregon Coast Range.
